Whos excited about this game? I always thought the older Sonic games were meh. It might be good it might be crap we haven't seen much of the game. Its coming to WiiWare so I might buy it a month after release.

Meh? Classic games were great. I'm "excited". But I'm expecting nothing mind-blowing. A couple of friends told me it will in the 2.5d, akin to New Super Mario Bros. And they are supposedly scrapping all of the characters save for Robotnik and Sonic. It's trying to be that desperately nostalgic love letter to appease old(er)-school gamers or to curry favor with the more "Sonic Heroes" generation. Not sure on which. All I know is that I am a consumer whore and will buy it on VC as long as it's lesst than 2000 Wiipoints.

I have played all of them on Sonic Mega Collection. Never found them amazing that I would need to buy the next one if I ever had to. Its most likely trying to regain the hardcore fanbase since its a download only. I'm going to guess its going to be 500 - 800 nintendo points since its episodic.

It's slated to episodic? That's...interesting. Well, if they're only aiming for 800(I suspect 1500). SOnic has never been a difficult series. I only recently beat Contra without the thirty lives cheat. For difficulty, I reccomend Superhero mode on Mega Man 9. Great game. Mildly irksome on first playthrough. Superhero mode is just fun. I don't know. Sonic has a nostalgic feel of straightforward speed. No bells, no whistles. Just kill the game. But it's harder than newer games. (No More Heroes 2). I played NHM2. Too easy. Even on Bitter. A lot of fun. And bosses were nearly as good. Still. I'm trying to find challenging games. Also, (my digression is still spilling on), I reccomend Braid for the old-school platforming flavor, with mild difficulty.

I'm guessing its episodic so they can keep the price low and they don't have to keep going up in numbers like Sonic 5, 6 and 7. I'm only guessing that it would be around 800 just to attract more people.

If you're looking for difficult new games it would be best to look into the rebirth series on WiiWare.

Ah. I see. I can agree with that. Rebirth? I'll try it out. Did you check out the WiiWare Castlevania? Is it worthwhile?

Yeah I think they have both Contra Rebirth & Castlevania Rebirth for WiiWare. I haven't played them they haven't been on my list of downloadable games to buy.

I might get it I havent played any thing sonic in a while i have a sonic game for xbox that it come with and it is ok.

I'll definitely check out this new "rebirth" iteration. I only have a few VC games. I have Mega Man 9, Pokemon Rumble, Beyond Oasis, and Paper Mario.
